The Bachelor of Social Legal Sciences course aims to explore legal ideas, practices and institutions in their social and historical contexts. In socio-legal studies, you will examine legal and ethical issues through an interdisciplinary approach. Your study of philosophy provides a unique ethical foundation for your exploration of legal debates in environmental studies, and your understanding of media law will influence your study of the First Amendment in a constitutional law course. By researching law in a variety of topics, you develop new approaches and change the way you think about law. All students must complete at least 30 credits of general education (i.e., credits that are not legal courses). Of these 30 credits, the following minimum disciplinary requirements apply: Dr. Jenna Owens teaches her legal research and writing courses and reads journalists. Students should learn how to conduct legal research in books before converting these skills into the use of online resources. Introduction to the right to freedom of expression and the media. Students learn how the U.S. legal system works and gain an understanding and appreciation of the philosophical underpinnings of free speech. In addition, students face many of the problems that professional communicators face today.

The Bachelor of Laws is designed for students seeking a degree that emphasizes practical skills as well as analytical and conceptual thinking, legal research and writing, a study of the development of various legal theories, a solid understanding of the substantive areas of law, and the role of law in society. It also allows students to take courses in a variety of departments across the university. The BS degree is a good option for students who plan to work in fields affected by laws and regulations, or who are considering law school or other graduate fields.
Please note that paralegals and other non-lawyers are not permitted to provide legal services directly to the public unless permitted by law. The legal studies program is much more applied and teaches skills that will be applicable in the law firm, such as legal business applications and knowledge in specific legal topics. Most courses are based on conferences and targeted projects. The program explores the connection between law and politics and is a popular pathway to law school. This multidisciplinary approach prepares students for a future in law, whether it is the law school and the legal profession or in some other way. The major is designed for students who want to become future leaders in the community, city, state, nation, and world. It is also suitable for students who wish to pursue graduate studies in various disciplines, including economics, humanities, social sciences, political science, economics, healthcare, public service and much more, and for all those who wish to gain a general understanding of the place of law in today`s society. In addition to programs that lead to a Certificate of Paralegal Studies, an Associate`s Degree in Paralegal Studies, and a Bachelor of Business Administration, National Paralegal College offers a program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Law. This programme provides the student with a rigorous academic foundation in a wide range of subjects in law, a foundation in economics, economics, English and social sciences, as well as exposure to advanced legal issues and career-oriented skills. Upon completion of the program, students are qualified to be employed as paralegals in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies and non-profit organizations, or to pursue graduate studies. The Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies is designed to form the foundation of law school and provide the academic skills necessary for entry-level employment as paralegals in law firms, private companies, and government agencies. Paralegals perform specially delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible. Paralegals cannot provide legal services directly to the public unless permitted by law. B.S. Students must complete 45 semester hours of general education, 54 semester hours of major subjects: law (27 required), political science or law, and 25 semester hours of general elective courses. OBD Bachelor of Social Legal Science (BSL) – Thinking critically about human society. Understand people`s science and how we create our legal systems. Gain a practical understanding of social policy and research. In this programme, you will study the fundamentals of the legal system and gain skills in social research and applied social sciences. They take a number of legal subjects and choose a social science discipline.
The legal component will provide you with professional legal skills, including the ability to analyze legal material, understand basic legal principles, understand the relationship between law and society, and gain general analytical skills for critical thinking and problem solving.
