You may be wondering how all this information and knowledge will contribute to your score. Really look at the key knowledge section of the study design and make sure you are able to distinguish all the concepts. Study Area 1 is an in-depth study of the Victorian criminal justice system and how it works. This will allow you to learn about topics such as victims` and defendants` rights, criminal justice system staff, how they decide a criminal case and much more. Well, really, the whole study design is important, so reading the whole thing will be most beneficial. The third and final area of study in the law study of Unit 1 is civil liability. The final draft study design will be reviewed by the VCAA Board of Directors. Any updates on the progress of the review will be posted in the VCAA newsletter. Here, we look at each unit and briefly analyze the topics and skills you need in law. For Unit 4, 40 points for your score are awarded to 1 SAC and 60 points for your score are awarded to 2 SACs, with a total of 100 points. These include investigating two criminal and two civil cases that have taken place in the last four years, examining the protection of rights in Australia and another country, and possible ways to reform legal protection.
